Hosting..

Last week Bakersfield played host to the California Junior Miss Program. The program had been at home in Northern California for many years so the move to the Valley was a pretty big deal. 40 girls came from all over California to take part and they all needed some place to stay, so host families were called upon. Since Jill was fortunate enough to be a part of this program when she was in high school and had had such a great host family, we were happy to be able to pay back and house a few girls. We hit the jackpot and had three great girls in our home for the week. Jenna hailed from Malibu, Katie was from nearby Tehachapi and Brittany came from Del Norte County, right near the Oregon border.

Jenna, Katie and Brittany strike a pose with Elvis.

The CJM contestants got to experience Bakersfield hospitality at the Crystal Palace. It was a fun evening with food, a live band and lots of dancing.

The dance floor was full of energetic high school girls who were happy to have some fun after several days of pretty intense practices.

This was a daily ritual for Brittany.

Katie, greeting Bob and the camera with a smile early in the morning.

Jenna grabbing a quick breakfast.

Ahh, it is all over! The girls relax with their families after the last show.

Getting ready to say goodbye. Thanks for a great week girls...we are so proud of all of you!
